Smart Clock PCB – Product Description
The Smart Clock PCB is a custom-designed, 2-layer FR-4 printed circuit board developed for a programmable digital clock with alarm and reminder functionality. The board is built entirely with through-hole components, making it easy to assemble, solder, troubleshoot, and maintain. It is ideal for students, hobbyists, makers, and DIY electronics enthusiasts.
The Smart Clock is programmed using C++ in the Arduino IDE, allowing users to easily customize alarm times and reminder schedules by modifying the firmware. The clock can be configured for wake-up alarms, study sessions, work schedules, medication reminders, prayer times, or any other recurring events, making it adaptable to individual daily routines.
The Smart Clock features Wi-Fi connectivity for time synchronization and smart functionality. If a previously saved Wi-Fi network is unavailable or the device cannot connect, it automatically starts its own Wi-Fi Access Point (AP). Users can connect to this temporary network using a smartphone, tablet, or computer and open the provided local IP address in a web browser. A built-in configuration page allows users to enter the credentials of a new Wi-Fi network. Once the new Wi-Fi details are saved, the Smart Clock automatically connects to the selected network and resumes normal operation without requiring any hardware modifications or reprogramming.
The PCB is manufactured using 1.6 mm FR-4 material with a 2-layer copper design, ensuring mechanical durability, electrical reliability, and long service life. The layout follows standard PCB design practices for dependable performance and easy assembly using readily available through-hole components.
The modular design also allows future enhancements, such as additional sensors, larger displays, wireless modules, or other smart features while maintaining compatibility with the Arduino development environment.
