The SIDKick pico ("SKpico") is a drop-in replacement for the SID 6581/8580 sound chips in the Commodore 64 and 128 computers, and an alternative SID for Ultimate64-boards and the Commodore 64 Ultimate. It also emulates the SFX Sound Expander (FM). It has been designed as an inexpensive alternative to other SID replacements while not making compromises regarding quality. 

This is the newest variant, the SKpico2350DAC, based on the RP2354 microcontroller (which includes flash storage) with a DAC and operational amplifier.

The emulation is based on an extended version of reSID 0.16 (with parts from reSID 1.0 plus some extras), and also includes a few unique features:

• dual 6581 and/or 8580 emulation, or 6581/8580 plus FM emulation
• advanced SID filter settings plus 19x measured 6581 filter curves
• 2nd-SID address at $d400, $d420, $d500, $d420 + $d500 simultaneously, $de00, $df00 (on C128 no $d500), or any address when an external chip select signal is used (e.g. for the C64 Ultimate or on Ultimate 64 boards)
• paddle/mouse support with optional anti-jittering
• built-in configuration menu (launch with "SYS 54301"/"SYS 54333", also from C128-mode)
• built-in PRG launcher ("SYS 54333,0" etc. or from the menu), PRGs can be integrated into the firmware or flashed from the configuration menu

Note: the RGB-LED on the top side is not part of the BOM/CPL. If you don’t want to add it yourself, you can ask PCBWay. They are also willing to solder the through-hole pin headers.

The RGB-LED is a WS2812, e.g. the Worldsemi WS2812B-B/W (LCSC part #C114586). As pin headers for the SID socket I recommend rounded pins (e.g. LCSC part #C9742), the headers on the top are optional and only required for stereo line-out and additional address lines.

Hint: for the PCB-option “Remove product No.” choose “Specify a location”. 

Flashing the firmware of the SKpico can be easily done using any USB breakout (cable), the pins have spacious 2.54mm distance.
