CNC aluminum case for the Ferris Sweep Half-swept.

PCB compatibility

Note: Please note that I used an older revision of the Gerber files for the Ferris Sweep Half-swept. You can spot the differences by looking at the reset button and the power on/off button positions.

This case is meant to be used with a wireless Ferris Sweep (TRRS cable may not fit). The LiPo battery need to be fitted under the microcontroller (I used a 301228 battery).

Ordering process

Note: You'll need to repeat the ordering process for each case half.

Add one half to the cart.

Select:

• CNC machining
• Quantity: 1
• Design units: mm

For the case you see in the pictures I used:

• Aluminum 6061
• Surface finish: Bead blast + Anodized color(Purple)

The case requires tapping, be sure to upload the technical drawing shared in this project *for each half*.

Everything else can be left as default.

Summary

Assembly

You'll need 6 M2*4mm screws for screwing the PCBs to the case. No particular instructions are needed for mounting: just place the assembled PCBs in the case, add screws and add the keycaps.

Design process

I used Fusion360 to design the case. To have a reference about the PCB dimensions I grabbed the design files from the project repository, imported them in KiCAD and exported the PCB as a .step file which I later imported into Fusion360.
