What happens when you cram advanced audio, motion, and environmental sensing into a tiny 26x26mm footprint?
EdgeSense C6 is a premium, highly miniaturized IoT edge node engineered for smart home integrations, machine condition monitoring, and acoustic event detection. Designed by MicroCore Electronics, the goal behind this project was to utilize high-end, proven components and squeeze them into a minimal area without compromising capabilities, power efficiency, or signal quality.

This board features a robust power architecture and advanced sensing capabilities:
Brain & Connectivity: Powered by the ESP32-C6-MINI-1 module, delivering Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5 (LE), and Zigbee/Thread capabilities for seamless smart home integration (e.g., Home Assistant).
Acoustic Sensing: Features the MSM261DDB019 digital MEMS Microphone (I2S/PDM) for clean, high-fidelity audio capture and voice-edge processing.
Precise Motion Tracking: Integrates the BMA456 advanced 3-axis digital accelerometer, perfect for vibration detection, tap sensing, and spatial orientation.
Environmental Data: Includes the TMP118 high-accuracy I2C temperature sensor for localized climate and thermal monitoring.
Premium Power Management:
Smart Li-Ion battery charging via the BQ24232 IC with dynamic power-path management.
A highly efficient TPS63021 Buck/Boost converter, ensuring a rock-solid 3.3V rail for the RF and sensors, even as battery voltage drops.
Physical Design: Ultra-dense 26x26mm layout, Type-C USB with onboard ESD protection (RCLAMP0512), and physical BOOT/EN switches.
