Featuring 10-bit 40msps real-time capture output over USB 3.0 the Domesday Duplicator was the first USB FM RF capture device for single channel FM formats such as LaserDisc, Video8, Hi8 and NTSC Betamax (HiFi).

The Domesday86 project originally developed the Duplicator (DdD) to capture the BBC 1980s ‘’DomesDay’’ Laserdiscs, originally used solely with LD-Decode a software suite built for decoding and time base correcting of laserdiscs after capturing the raw RF from the disc.

As the capture hardware and method are agnostic, over the last few years software decoding abilities have now been broadened past just Laserdisc for HiFi FM Audio, colour-under-tape media such as VHS, S-VHS, U-Matic, Betamax, Video8, Hi8, but this also supports formats like EIAJ, SMPTE Type-C and development for formats like Betacam have started.
