D32 Joystick Adapter
I don't have just any number of Dragon 32s - I actually have two of them (I blame late night shopping). They don't have the best sound, they don't even have the best possible picture from that age of computers - the thing I like about them is that they're essentially the little welsh machines that thought they could - then they actually did in all manner of garish colours!
What I don't have is a working joystick, or any joystick at all that work with the machine so up to this point I've been pushing keys on the keyboard instead (it does have a good one). I wanted to buy one, but according to someone very close to me - I appearantly have enough weird old stuff! So I searched around for a solution, found one at vrai.net and designed a PCB around it. The solution was using one of the many Atari-style joysticks I've collected over the years instead.
This adapter should work with Dragon 32 and Dragon 64 computers, the Dragon 32 was also sold as the Tano Dragon in America - which should be compatible without changes. According to some sources an adapter with this design should also be able to work on the TRS-80 Colour Computer (CoCo), but if you want to use the second fire button as supported by the CoCo3 you'll need a 240 degree DIN-6 instead of a DIN-5 plug.
There are detailed component lists (BOM) as well as build instructions on my github-page. Note that some of the pictures here additionally show a faceplate, this is available here as a separate shared project - so order a copy of both if you want the complete package. Later I also added a faceplate that should look good with the CoCo.
