Contra - Rotating Propeller Mechanism
This project demonstrates how a purely mechanical system can achieve balanced contra-rotation through coordinated gear architecture. A single rotary input drives a planetary gear train to provide compact speed reduction within a coaxial layout, while a bevel gear stage transmits motion to the secondary shaft to drive the counter-rotating propeller. The design is complemented by tapered and twisted propeller blades developed to reflect realistic aerodynamic design intent, with emphasis placed on mechanical clarity, compact power transmission, and hardware-based system integration.
