### DESCRIPTION

I present to you a diagnostic tool for older Chrysler / Dodge vehicles that use CCD-bus and/or SCI-bus to communicate with the outside world. Despite the default OBD-II connector it will work with OBD-I vehicles too (with adapter cable). At its heart it is a pimped out custom Arduino Mega board with circuits that enables it to interface with said buses.

One of the pictures shows the scanner connected to a salvaged BCM (Body Control Module). Two extra connections were made to make the CCD-bus talk indefinitely. The module now believes the key is turned to ignition and one of the doors is open. Another pictures shows a Windows GUI that displays the messages flowing on the CCD-bus. The first 9 bytes are generated by the scanner and the following bytes are the actual CCD-bus messages.

This project is ongoing but the results are promising.

Surprisingly this scanner might work with John Deere tractors, before they began to use CAN-bus. They actually borrowed Chrysler's CCD-bus technology to use in their tractors. What a time to be alive!
