Amiga 27C160 Kickswitch
I designed a small circuit board for myself, so that I can switch 4 kickroms in a 27C160 ROM and give away as little as possible in height (the finished circuit board takes up as much space in height as a precision base). The switching is done by 2 jumpers or 2 connected switches.
The board fits the A500, 500+, 600, 2000 and CDTV. Except for the CDTV (I haven't seen it yet) you should be able to solder the kick switch directly to the mainboard instead of the original kick socket. This should solve any problem concerning the height.
One needs among other things 2x 10K 0805 resistors, 2x 2pol. angled/straight pin headers (or cables directly solder on), 2 jumpers and/or switches and 42 precision contacts. The latter you can either express yourself from precision sockets or buy the article "PZF 1" from Kessler Electronic.
And finally you need of course a 27C160 EPROM, up to 4 Kickrom files (you can read them from your original ROMs or you may already have some, e.g. via an Amiga Forever license) and the possibility to burn the whole thing.
Check the A500 Rev. 6A to see if it fits with the quartz. With an older version I had to shorten the pin strips at the bottom, so that there was no short-circuit, but this should fit with this version now.
For the use in Rev. 3/5 motherboards there is a solder jumper on the bottom side, which connects pin 2 and 32 in the socket. Additionally, pin 32 has to be bent up and connected to pin 22 (5V), just like with Kick 3.1 in the mentioned revisions! The pin numbers refer to the 42pol. 27C160 EPROM.
With 42 pin sockets on the mainboard, make sure that the pin 1 and 42 precision contacts are not in contact with the socket below!
