This PCBWAY project replicates an Acquisition PCB for the WULPUS platform v1.2.2.

WULPUS is the first open-source, compact, ultra-low-power research ultrasound platform built for wearable applications.

It provides +15 V unipolar programmable excitations, 8 time-multiplexed channels, an 8 Msps 12-bit ADC, and a 40.8 dB fixed gain amplifier to deliver high-quality signal acquisition. With BLE connectivity at 320 kbps and power consumption below 25 mW, it supports real-time, wireless, multi-day continuous ultrasound monitoring from a single battery.

The system is composed of two PCBs: an Acquisition PCB that integrates the MSP430FR5043 ultrasound MCU and the nRF52832 BLE MCU, and a High-Voltage PCB that includes a high-voltage multiplexer, TX/RX switch, and MOSFET driver. Together, these boards enable efficient ultrasound signal capture, processing, and wireless data transmission.

Featuring a 46 × 25 mm footprint and weighing only 9 g, WULPUS can achieve up to 50 Hz PRF with 400 samples per acquisition, making it well suited for wearable ultrasound applications that demand continuous monitoring and user mobility.
