Description

HP 5327 TSSOP Adapter

This replaces the HP integrated circuit 1820-0116, and transforms the instruments' Nixie BCD outputs into Nixie BCD inputs. You can then reuse the HP Nixie frequency meter as a clock display by feeding BCD signals on the back output connector, now an input connector, from an Arduino project, or as we did, from the Apollo spacecraft central timing equipment. To convert back to the original HP instrument, just put the original ICs back into place. This works on a bunch of HP Nixie frequency meters from the same era, including the HP 5327 and the HP 5221. But don't order the gold plating as we did to make it look pretty before soldering, just order regular solder finish. It will look the same once finished anyhow.
