I love playing with my Nintendo 3DS, but it's kind of a hassle to lug around an extra charger just to keep the battery charged, especially considering almost everything else I use every day is charged over USB C (my laptop and my phone are both USB C-enabled). I opened the device up, removed the existing connector and put a USB C port in it's place! Sadly, I got the wrong size resistor for the no-name aliexpress connector but I was able to make it work anyways by soldering the case to the pad for the cable detect pin.

In the future, I'd like to redo this project with better measurements so that the battery doesn't stick out. I've taped it down with electrical tape, but it means I can't put the battery cover on anymore.
