You'll need to create a free Magic Home account in order to control strip lights from anywhere. It also allows your WiFi strip lights to work with smart home devices like Google Home and Amazon Alexa enabled devices.

Once you're logged in, you'll see the available lights listed. Click the light and then select your WiFi network. (If you have a dual-band router you must connect to the 2.4Ghz signal, LED controller will not work on 5Ghz.) Your phone must also be connected to the 2.4Ghz signal in order to set up the bulb properly. You will then be able to name your strip lights to whatever you like. 

The app itself is very user-friendly and easy to figure out. You can sync it with music. You have an option for up to 5 preset colors/ brightness settings. It has preset for the light strip to change colors by itself which is really cool for special events like Christmas or Birthdays, or really any occasion being you can make your one presets also.
