Breadboard to 28p wide ZIF adapter
A simple breadboard to 28-pin Wide ZIF socket adapter.
Includes additional ground pins and an (optional) SMD decoupling capacitor.

Solder the header pins first. Then add the ZIF socket, flip the board and solder the ZIF socket.
TIP: You can push the header pin plastic support higher up the pin to reduce stick-out. This will ensure the ZIF socket seats well and isn't forced too high off the PCB by the header pins. Do this by placing the PCB upside down on a hard surface, inserting the header pins, then pushing the plastic retainer down towards the PCB more. You can also do this with the ZIF socket sitting in place, then you can push the pin header plastic retainer all the way against the PCB.
