Banano Board Prototyping Case
This special enclosure allows you to quickly mount a Banano Board for prototyping without screws - the board simply clips in and out. You can have the case printed by PCB Way or download the STL file and print yourself.
If you choose to have PCB Way print one for you, PCB Way will offer a number of shipping options. This makes big impact on the overall price, so choose with care.
The Banao Board is covered in the following ElectroBananas YouTube Video:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pLuV-ciUMUs
You can order Banano Boards here:
You can use the case in two main ways:
1) To use it with a Banano Board assembled with front-facing pin headers (for prototyping) so that you can position the Banano board in front of a bread board or other device you want to interface with and make rapid connections between the two (refer to the video).
2) Once you have populated a Banano Board for installation into a project, you can pop it in this case for testing.
There are holes on the back for the following:
- USB-C power connector to provide power to your Banano Board. This can be connected to VIN via the power switch. Do not use this connection if you are also using the VIN input on the 4mm Banana Jack (see below) as they are connected together! You could use a blocking diode to prevent this if you wanted.
- Power Switch
- 4mm banana sockets for connection to the main power rails of a Banano Board present on J5 at the top of the board. Theses are:
- Ground.
- VBUS - This connects to the +5V/VBUS connection on your Nano. Note that this will be 5V or 3.3V depending on the Nano fitted.
- VRL - VRL is short for V Relay. This is an input to provide the supply to the high current driver IC (TBD62783) if fitted. It can range from 2V to 50V DC
- VIN - This the VIN input to your Nano. Check the specifications of the Nano you have fitted to determine the maximum voltage.
Note! that PCB Way will offer a number of shipping options. This makes big impact on the overall price, so choose with care.
