[Others] How to switch on a small load when a applied voltage is removed?

Hello guys, I need to turn on a small DC motor when a applied reference voltage is removed. Do you know a circuit diagram for this or any idea of doing this?

[Others] Why do we use an H-bridge circuit to control a DC motor using Arduino?

Is it because the motor has no signal pin other than the negative and positive pins?
