basically Sorter V2 control board v1.4.1
basically Sorter V2 control board v1.4.1
This is the control/distribution PCB for the basically Sorter V2, a machine that sorts LEGO parts. It connects a Raspberry Pi Pico, five plug-in stepper drivers, the layer servo network, LED outputs and a limit switch. This project supplies the control PCB only, not a complete sorter or electronics kit.
ORDERING
Choose PCB + Assembly and use the attached BOM, native KiCad centroid and assembly reference package. The PCB is 130 x 120 mm, 2 layers, 1.6 mm FR-4, 1 oz copper, black solder mask, white legend and lead-free HASL. Request lead-free assembly.
The full assembly contains 135 fitted parts across 38 BOM lines. It INCLUDES these three soldered RECOM power modules:
U3: R-78K5.0-1.0, 5 V output
U4: R-78K12-2.0, 12 V output
U5: R-78B6.5-1.5, 6.5 V output
Use straight-pin versions, not L-suffix variants. The attached BOM and assembly instructions take precedence over the original source's DNP flags for these modules.
NOT INCLUDED
Raspberry Pi Pico, plug-in stepper driver modules, Orange Pi, power supply, wiring harnesses, motors and servos are separate. The Pico and driver sockets are fitted. J2, J3, J4, J12 and J13 are intentionally not fitted. Firmware flashing and powered functional testing are not included unless separately agreed with PCBWay.
ONE MACHINE
A five-layer Sorter V2 uses one control board and five separate layer adapter boards. Those adapters are not included in this listing. Order FIVE assembled revision-1.0 adapters from the companion project: https://www.pcbway.com/project/shareproject/basically_Sorter_V2_layer_adapter_board_v1_0_9d79e670.html . The two designs are quoted separately; confirm assembled quantities on both quotations. There is no automatic six-board bundle or cross-customer batching. Do not mistake five bare spare control PCBs for five assembled adapters.
ASSEMBLY REVIEW
The SMD centroid uses native KiCad coordinates and rotations, not PCB rotation offsets. PCBWay must confirm placement, pin 1, diode/LED polarity, connector key direction and power-module orientation against the supplied reference before production. Ask PCBWay for its proposed BOM and placement/first-article images. The source board has not been redesigned for this upload, and this is not a claim of PCBWay first-article validation.
IMAGE
The cover is a KiCad rendering of the original PCB assembly configuration. It does not show the three RECOM modules; this listing's attached BOM explicitly includes all three. The assembly drawing and BOM define the fitted parts.
