I'm designing the communication and control board for a mobile robot as my final-year engineering thesis. It's built around an ESP32-C5-WROOM-1 module and handles Wi-Fi and serial links between the robot and its host, while breaking out step/direction/enable signals for two stepper axes, a servo output, and two UART channels.
The board runs from the 5 V rail supplied by the main board, with USB for programming and test points on the key control lines.
Having it manufactured would let me test the design on real hardware and finish the thesis on time.
