Project Update – First Prize Winner

I am delighted to announce that this project won 1st Prize in the PCBWay 12th Anniversary Electronic Badge Design Contest.

After the contest, I continued improving the badge and developed an enhanced version featuring a rechargeable LiPo battery, USB-C charging, integrated power management, and an optimized PCB layout.

The final project consists of two dedicated PCBs:

Electronic PCB – ESP32 controller, addressable RGB LEDs, LiPo battery charger, battery management, and USB-C power.

Decorative PCB – artistic silkscreen, precision-drilled light holes, and illuminated horse artwork.

The latest design files and project documentation have been updated to reflect the final version of the badge.

Project Description

This project is a custom-designed interactive PCB badge created to celebrate PCBWay's 12th Anniversary and the Year of the Horse (2026).

The front PCB features an artistic design created using precision-drilled holes and silkscreen graphics, depicting two dynamic horses together with the PCBWay logo. The holes are carefully arranged to allow light from the RGB LEDs to shine through, creating a unique illuminated effect.

The electronic PCB on the back contains an ESP32-based control circuit driving addressable RGB LEDs. The LEDs illuminate the front artwork through the micro-holes, producing dynamic lighting effects and bringing the design to life.

The lower section of the badge highlights PCBWay's manufacturing capabilities beyond PCB fabrication, including CNC machining, 3D printing, sheet metal fabrication, and injection molding. These elements are integrated into the artwork to showcase the versatility of PCBWay's services.

This project combines electronics, artistic design, and PCB manufacturing into a compact, interactive, and visually striking electronic badge.
