Current measurement tool
Recently, I built a simple tool that makes it much easier to diagnose carrier boards for SoMs I’ve designed (I work with Nvidia, Variscite, and Toradex).
The principle is straightforward:
🔧 The tool plugs in instead of a mini automotive fuse (Keystone 3568).
🔧 It contains a shunt resistor for current sensing (20–100 mΩ, depending on the case).
🔧 Each side of the resistor is connected with coaxial cables directly to an oscilloscope.
The oscilloscope then calculates ΔU / R automatically, and I can instantly see the real-time current waveform.
