This project harnesses the power of 3D printing to revolutionize model rocketry, by making it more accessible to students, educators, and enthusiasts alike. By designing 3D-printable rockets, my goal is to reduce costs and remove financial barriers, allowing more people to explore physics, engineering, and aerospace without constraints.

My passion for engineering and rocketry inspired me to create this project, as traditional rocketry can be expensive. This tends to limit access for hobbyists and learners, by developing affordable 3D-printable rockets, I plan aim to democratize rocketry, enabling more people to engage in hands-on experimentation.

Printing the Rocket Parts – The STL files include a long rocket body, short rocket body, nose cone, and four fins for assembly.

Tool-Free Assembly – The fins fit securely into designated slots without glue, while the short rocket body connects seamlessly atop the long body using a connector piece.

Engine Mounting – A C6-4 Estes rocket engine powers the launch, fitting snugly at the bottom of the rocket.

Parachute Deployment System – The nose cone and short rocket body feature attachment holes for parachutes, allowing controlled descent after flight.

Safety Features – The short rocket body houses fire-retardant paper, shielding the parachutes from the ejection charge and ensuring a successful deployment.

Smooth Recovery – Upon activation of the ejection charge, the parachutes deploy, guiding the rocket safely back to the ground.
