IPC - international association for the electronics industry join ® released by the printed circuit board (PCB) in May, North America statistical report. Report results show that the PCB book-to-bill ratio as high as 1.10 in May, continued to maintain strength for six months, the recession to end of nearly two years.

PCB orders growth is strong

PCB shipments fell by 4.4 in May, North America, but orders rose by 8.3. Year-to-date, PCB industry shipments fell by 4.9, 0.3 drop in orders. Shipments rose 0.9, compared with last month, the PCB orders rose 6.5. Orders for delivery in May than in 1.10, the orders have been beyond six months shipments.

In may, sales of flexible plate continued to be strong, rigid plate sales level is still lower than the same period last year. But the shape of the orders, on the contrary, flexible plate orders below the level in the same period last year, rigid plate orders have passed in the same period last year.

Sharon IPC market research director ms Starr said: "in most of the past year, PCB sales and orders are below the same period last year, but it has improved since a few months. In the recent five months, growth rate has been more than the growth rate of sales orders, so did well book-to-bill ratio. In the past two years of recession, leading to poor PCB sales; but the last five months of orders, indicates the sales performance in the second half."

Book-to-bill ratio is with all the IPC sample survey company for the past three months of sales orders in addition to the same period calculated value. Ratio greater than 1.00, indicating the current demand greater than supply, the signal in the next three to six months, the sales will be to the growth trend of development.

Native north American production remained stable

IPC monthly survey data of PCB industry in North America, from the United States and Canada, the quantity of goods and shipments of the enterprise, the data shows the demand index of the region. These data could not be used to measure in the United States and Canada local production of PCB. In order to grasp the production situation of the region, the IPC for companies involved in the investigation, provide their shipments in the United States, Canada, local production percentage in the submitted data. 86% of total shipments in May 2013, PCB produced in North America. These data clearly affected by the IPC sample company's comprehensive, in addition to data vary slightly in January, the rest of the month is not affected.

GDP

The growth rate of year-on-year growth rates and year-to-date, have guiding significance to explore the development trend of industry. Sequential data because of the cyclical and short-term sex change factors, need careful treatment. Compared with the data delivery, order data change is bigger, and months between book-to-bill ratio change, it is not that important, unless there is a clear change trend of more than 3 consecutive months. To explore the change of the order and shipment reason and understanding book-to-bill ratio changes are equally important.

IPC PCB industry statistics, a month comes from the area is typical in the United States and Canada just/flexible PCB manufacturer of sample companies to provide regular data. The IPC will be released monthly PCB book-to-bill ratio and PCB statistics project report. Monthly statistics report published in next month's last week.
