Wisconsin Racing WR218e

Introduction:

The University of Wisconsin-Madison's Formula SAE Electric team, Wisconsin Racing, spends each fall semester designing new vehicles, constantly searching for ways to improve performance and increase reliability. During the winter months, the team develops the vehicle with comprehensive manufacturing processes. In this phase, the team works tirelessly to build and test the vehicles, continuously resolving any issues that arise. Everything comes together for the electric competition, FSAE Lincoln, in June.

My name is Marisa Tisler and I work on the hardware in the low voltage electrical system at Wisconsin Racing. I am the female on the left of the team picture (quite easy to pick out). This picture was taken at the end of last year's competition in Lincoln, Nebraska after we placed first for vehicle design.

Technical Details:

We are in the second year building an electric Formula SAE race car. The electronic system consists of multiple different custom PCBs for all high voltage and low voltage aspects of the car such as a custom quad inverter, battery management system, and power distribution system.

Words to PCBWay:

Each year Wisconsin Racing strives for highly innovative designs that do not rely of off-the-shelf components. We learn more from the design process and can better troubleshoot problems within our own designs. We are asking for your sponsorship for our power distribution board for all low voltage components in the electric car.
