NovaRay UV Sterilizer

Hello, 

I am a student at California Polytechnic State University of San Luis Obispo working on a small team for an Engineering Design class.

I am currently working on a project in my class that requires fabricating several (~10) small PCBs with a surface mount LED and 2-4 power connectors. 

We are creating a solution to combat food spoilage in households: NovaRay. Our product is a UV lighting system that can be installed in your refrigerator to kill all harmful bacteria and mold spores in order to reduce the speed at which food spoils.

The system will use prefabricated modules that can be strung together to allow easy adaptation to any model of refrigerator

The switch module contains an always on LED as power indicator for the whole system as well as a normally open switch that regulates power to the rest of the system. Any number of LED modules can be strung together and in any orientation such that users can customize the fit for their refrigerator.

Included are mock-ups of the silk-screen and layout of the LED modules in the two color options we are considering.
