This accessory is useful if you want to equip your C64 with a stereo SID accessory for stereo sound or emulation.

Whether you are using ARMSID, MixSID, SidFX, the new open source SidKick (or SidKick nano) or any other stereo solution, you will need the A5-A8 signals, which can be most easily derived from specific outputs on the CPU (or from specific points on the expansion port or other roms, but that's not an elegant solution). 

With this accessory you can take the necessary signal without soldering. It was necessary to redesign the earlier similar riser adapter because at some earlier C64 models (e.g. the 250466 variant) did not have enough space for the pin header when installing the stereo SID solution. With this project this issue can be eliminated without any problems. 

You don't need to solder the 40pin DIP precision socket, the holes are enough large to fit in and keep it together - only the pin headers must to solder - you can use any variant of these headers - I suggest to build with the 90 degrees variant due to reduced height.
