F1 in schools front whell
Our project is focused on designing a high-performance wheel for our F1 in Schools car, aimed at reducing rolling resistance, improving speed, and ensuring precise alignment. We chose to create our own custom wheels after identifying that standard or poorly balanced wheels caused friction loss and inconsistent performance during testing. Using CAD software like Fusion 360, we engineered lightweight, aerodynamically efficient wheels with high precision and smooth surfaces to minimize drag. The wheels are manufactured using either 3D printing with durable polymers or CNC-machined aluminum for strength and consistency. Each wheel is carefully tested for symmetry, balance, and optimal fit with the axle to ensure smooth rotation and minimal energy loss. This design plays a critical role in maximizing the car’s launch speed and overall track performance.
