### What is this project about?

This project is a high-performance, compact breakout board designed for the Panasonic AMG88xx Grid-EYE infrared array sensor family. It enables non-contact temperature management and thermal imaging prototyping by breaking out the sensor's fine-pitch SMD pins into a standard, breadboard-friendly 2.54mm pin header.

### Why did you decide to make it?

Most existing breakout boards for this sensor family use tight, unified resistor networks (respacks) that are difficult to source and replace for DIYers or makers working with limited equipment. I decided to redesign this board using individual, discrete 0603 SMD resistor footprints. This makes hand-soldering, debugging, and component sourcing significantly easier and more accessible for open-source community members.

### How does it work?

The board integrates a 3.3V Low-Dropout (LDO) voltage regulator (AP2112K-3.3) and onboard I2C level-shifting circuitry using dual BSS138DW MOSFETs. This allows the AMG88xx sensor to safely communicate with both 3.3V and 5V logic microcontrollers—such as Arduino, ESP32, and Raspberry Pi—without any risk of overvoltage damage.
