This is the programming adapter board for the KERNALquattro 2364 ROM replacement. It maps the pins of the KERNALquattro back to a 28C256 DIP EEPROM. This allows the on-board EEPROM to be programmed using a standard programmer like the TL866.See my blog post for more details.

The KERNALquattro is a compact, versatile, and still relatively cheap replacement for 2364 ROMs as found in the Commodore 64 and other 8-bit computers of that time. A feature fawned over by every Atari ST owner, mainly because most Commodore Amiga computers never came with MIDI-ports built into it (Yes, I know the Commodore CDTV was a later exception). Personally I never missed them as I was not lucky enough to have been born with a sense of rhythm, which is apparently a requirement for being allowed to purchase music equipment. A few years ago I decided that I needed a Roland MT-32 in my life, but with prices the way they are I wasn't able to get very far....
