DIY 8-bit PIC microcontroller Prototype Board for Hobbyists

PIC18F2550 is a high-end 8-bit PIC micro-controller from Microchip Technology. I has a USB transceiver inside. Its Flash memory is 32kBytes and able to operates up to 48MHz (12MIPS) using its hardware PLL.

This chip is a little old but I have a dozen of of it. So I decided to make a prototype board with a PICKIT2 device programmer together since I have all required components at my workshop.




Programming a microcontroller is fun. I like to do it at spare time. I make this board at the size of 10cmx10cm which is very low cost (5USD for 5-10pcs) to order the fabricated PCB from PCBWay.



This board could fit any 8-bit 28-pin PIC microcontrollers for instance PIC16F886, PIC16F876A, PIC18F2550, etc. I also put an AVR ISP header to program any AVR microcontrollers using AVRDude IDE. For design details and example please go to this link:
