Easy Servo
The Problem
When building robotics projects or anything involving multiple servo motors, connecting them to a microcontroller (like an Arduino or ESP32) using a breadboard often leads to a messy "spaghetti wiring" situation. Moreover, drawing power for multiple servos directly from the MCU can easily overload its internal voltage regulator, causing brownouts, resets, and erratic behavior.
The Solution
I designed this simple yet highly effective 4-Servo Breakout Board to solve these exact issues. Born from the need to make educational robotics projects cleaner and more reliable, this PCB acts as a stable bridge between your logic board and up to four servo motors.
Key Features
- Isolated Power Supply: Features dedicated power terminals (VCC/GND) to supply external power directly to the servos. This completely protects your microcontroller from high-current draws.
- Signal Filtering: Each of the 4 PWM signal lines is equipped with a 100nF decoupling capacitor to filter out electrical noise, ensuring smooth, jitter-free servo movements.
- Universal Compatibility: Standard 2.54mm pitch headers make it plug-and-play with Arduino, ESP32, Raspberry Pi Pico, or any MCU capable of generating PWM signals.
- Compact & Clean Design: Designed in EasyEDA, the board is small enough to fit into tight robotic chassis, keeping your wiring beautifully organized.
How to Use
- Connect your external power source (e.g., a 5V/6V battery pack or buck converter) to the dedicated Power Input pins. Do not use the MCU's 5V output.
- Plug your servo motors into ports 1 through 4.
- Connect the 4 signal pins and the common Ground to your microcontroller.
- Upload your code and enjoy stable, reliable motion!
