AMIGA 500 ROM REPLACEMENT ADAPTER FOR REV. 5 MOTHERBOARDS

 This is A500 315093-01 Kickstart ROM replacement/switcher adapter for only REV.5 Motherboards.

Hello,

This is a tested and working circuit board. 

 REV. 5 Amiga 500 motherboards mostly produced with v1.2 ROM (315093-01)

For stability of working performance 4.7K pull-up resistors are placed on adress lines.

This a500 Kickstart ROM replacement adapter easily fits A500 REV.5 Motherboards. 

With 27C160 EPROM you can select and use 4 (4 banks x 512KB) different Kickstart ROMs

With 27C800 EPROM you can select and use 2 (2 banks x 512KB) different Kickstart ROMs

With 27C400 EPROM you can use only 1 (512KB) Kickstart ROM (If you are using this adapter with 27C400 EPROM then pin1 and pin42 of the eprom socket should be left empty.)

If your binary ROM file is 256KB then you should append it to itself to make a 512Kb file. You can simpy do this with a "HEX-Editor" program.

You can also use Amiga diagnostic ROM (DIAGROM) with this ROM Adapter.

For reading original Amiga ROMs or for programming 27C400/800/160 with a "TL866 Programmer" you need to make this eprom adaptor. (It has 2 switches on it and helps you to program 27c160 eprom in 4 steps, each 512Kb bank in one step)

This project only includes a specially designed PCB. No Amiga ROM file will be shared.

WINUAE Emulator .ROM files are not suitable for eproms, because they are byte-swapped files, they do not work. You need Binary ".BIN" ROM image files. You can find more information on the internet forums.

This ROM adapter is specialy designed and only suitable to the Amiga 500 REV.5 Motherboards. It is not suitable for A500 REV.6 Motherboards. If you need a ROM adapter for A500 REV.6 motherboard you can find it here;
