Pokemon Heart Gold Nintendo DS Cartridge Bottom
I used Martin Refseth/HDR's Machined DS Cartridge and got it machined in titanium, and then plated in gold for Heart Gold, the greatest Pokemon game ever. It turned out a great, but it took a LONG time to make. Apparently plating this was very difficult, and it took several attempts, spanning MONTHS. Good things come to those who wait. The back was polished decently to shine, as you can see my camera reflected in it, but you can see swirls as well, and those weren't from something I did. They don't bother me, but you should be aware that it came that way. Mating the two plates together worked better than it did for Soul Silver, but had the same issue with the bottom right corner sticking out a tiny bit. It's pretty hard to tell though. I could have probably friction fitted these together still, but I instead applied the epoxy as HDR recommended, as I didn't feel as confident in a friction fit as I did with Soul Silver. Machining is a way better way to go then the 3D printing was, as this turned out a lot better. It works great, and it looks great. I'm very happy with it.
