Excellent Resin Printed Mold Box

I make props with my FDM printer, and I use resin casting for some of my parts. For these parts to be optically clear or have specular highlights (for lights, etc.), I need an extremely smooth mold box to cast my silicone molds. I was quoted almost $500 by one shop, so I decided to check out PCBWay. I explained my requirements when I placed my order. My sales rep answered all of my many questions and once I was satisfied, I placed the order. I was shocked to see a full price (with shipping and everything else) under $150. PCBWay's system kept me informed of every step in the process. Once I got the shipping notice, I was prepared for a 2-3-week wait for it to come from China, but shipping was actually very quick. Once the box arrived, I was pretty nervous to open it. When casting resin, any layer lines or lack of smoothness in the mold will transfer to the resin, resulting in a lower quality cast, so I needed this mold box to be smooth. I opened the box, unwrapped the carefully packaged part, and I was absolutely thrilled! PCBWay had done a great job of post processing to smooth everything out without removing too much material. Many of the parts I'm molding are very small, and they provided a highly detailed and excellent mold box for my silicone molds. The quality of this part would have been a bargain at twice the price. In the future, I will be making other mold boxes for my props, and you can bet I'll be going with PCBWay!
