VL6180X Short-range Optical Ranging Sensor
The VL6180 is a time-of-flight ranging sensor. The sensor consists of a relatively small laser source and a matching sensor. The VL6180X can detect the "time of flight", or the time required for the laser to recover the sensor, so as to calculate the distance, and most of them are determined by the intensity of the reflected light or the reflection angle. The VL6180 uses a clock to measure the time it takes for light to bounce off the surface. the VL6180 module is recommended to handle the distance from 5mm to 100mm. Because of its small size, the sensor module is easy to use in any robot or interactive project. You can use it with any 3-5V power supply or logic microcontroller.
Pin definition
Power supply pin:
* vin - power input pin. The voltage input range is 3-5v;
* 2v8 - output port, which outputs 2.8V voltage, which is generated by the onboard voltage stabilizer after processing the input voltage of VIN, which is convenient to expand and use;
*GND - ground of power supply;
I2C communication bow | pin:
*SCL - I2c clock pin, connected to the master SCL;
* SDA - I2c data pin, connected to the master SDA;
Control pin:
*GPIO - sensor is used to indicate that data is ready. pay attention to the high and low level of 0-2.8V output from this pin, which may not be applied to Arduino. Equal boards (the high level of these boards is 3.3 or 5V), which are generally not used, and level conversion is required for application;
*SHDN - the closing pin of the sensor. By default, it is pulled high. There is a level shifting diode, so you can use 3-5V logic on this pin. When the pin is pulled low, the sensor enters the shutdown mode.
