The board is a distance counter with video overlay display on a camera signal. We ordered 1400 pieces, 1200 with connector and 200 without. Of the 1400 boards 2 boards showed short each one short circuits, one between a copper ground plane and a signal track on the upper layer and another between a via and the ground plane on one of the the inner layers. This short circuits should have been discovered by the electronic test, doesn't it? We also found 12 pieces with a defect IC4 ADA4891-1-ARMZ, with either one or two or all video outputs defect. The cause of it is unknown and you cannot be held responsible for that. We replaced the chips and the function was restored. And we found 20 of the 100 boards without connector with solder traces on the connector piins where obviously connectors had been solderered and then removed again. Six of these boards also show damaged solder masks on the tracks leading to the TH-pins and the copper surface of the tracks are visible. We also had to remove the residual solder such that the through holes were free again. Even though we got all boards working, our customer is claiming a 5% discount for the boards whit solder traces and the amaged solder mask, because for him the boards do not look new but already used..I hope we can find a solution for that. So we found two boards of 1400 defect which is a 0.142% failure rate which is rather good. All in all we are quite satisfied with the qualtity!
