Perfect machining job, but really odd surface finish?

The machining has been carried out perfectly for this injection mold, however, there is an odd residue left all over the majority of surfaces almost like scaling or something similar? Everything fits together nicely but I will now need to spend a decent amount of time cleaning both parts to ensure it doesn't affect the final product. Other than that, very happy with the outcome! thanks guys!
