My first rodeo was largely successful
It took 10 revisions (no fault of PCBWAY) to make it happen, but it happened. This is my first ever PCB build. The adapter converts a standard IDE laptop hard drive down to a narrower version of it used in the first Compaq laptops. I was particularly impressed with how close to correct the writing was. I used some radically unusual font. I was impressed with the sales team exploring all options with this board. It has 44 traces. I’m thankful for not having to scrap this project. Why I say “largely successful” was due to two issues which are no fault of PCBWAY. The holes for the bigger side of my adapter were just a little too small. Also I made the adapter backwards. Despite my minor errors, it’s still going to serve the purpose. I did learn quite a bit thanks to the PCBway team.
