I am in the USA and recently (September 2024) ordered 20pcs flex PCBs with assembly from PCBWay. The commercial invoice sent with it declared the full USD purchase price, which incurred almost $588 USD import duty on a $711 USD order. I have never experienced import duty with bare or assembled PCBs from PCBWay, as the commercial invoices all had very low cost declared. The commercial invoice declared the flex PCBAs as "Electronic PC".
Did something change? Why was my order declared as "Electronic PC?
