This project was to program and test the ESP8266 to investigate the capabilities of this module/chip.

The Design

It is a simple designed PCB to power, program and control the ESP-01/ESP8266 WiFi module. The module is powered and programmed from a micro-USB. The 5V from the USB is regulated down to the ESP8266 3.3V work voltage. The CH340G is attached to the USB and provides a USB-Serial interface for programming and debugging. The PCB has 2 buttons, one for programming and one can be used in any way to control the device.

Programs

WiFi HotSpot/control

This program allows a mobile, phone or other devices to connect over wifi to this device to control it. This device will help to debug other programs that will require control from other devices.

WiFi Mesh Networks

This program is to test and/or add to an existing mesh network. There a few projects that I will be making that needs a mesh network and this will help debug and control the network.

Other

The ESP8266 has many different functions that can affect how the planned program is made. This device will help debug any problems.
