This is the original COREi64 4 port left keyboard bracket for the Ultimate 64 / 64c installation.

Contained in the design of this part are two joystick port connectors. Keep in mind that in order to utilize these ports, you will have to cut openings for the port in the left side of your 64c case. Normally this isn't anything that I would condone (permanent modifications), but given the availability of NEW 64c cases, I felt this would be a good solution.

This product requires two DB9 male joystick connectors mounted in the left keyboard bracket and two special retaining washers.

You'll need to order all of the components listed, and two of the special washers.

The thought behind the creation of this is two-fold. Gideon may be producing a 4 player joystick adapter for the Ultimate 64 that could most certain utilize these two ports. And, given that the USER PORT is actually a header on the Ultimate 64 main board, existing 4 player adapters could be modified to interface with these ports.

The installation process is rather straight forward.

1. Remove the DB9 retaining screw from the top of the mount. Remove the plate and the two DB9 connectors.

2. Then re-assemble without the DB9's in place.

3. Place the mount in the case in it's proper location, and press against the inside wall of the case. 

4. Trace the DB9 opening, then disassemble.

5. Remove material from the traced area. This allows the DB9's to pass through the side of the case.

6. Electrically connect your 4-player solution to the DB9's and test appropriately.

7. Assemble DB9's in keyboard mount.

The slotted stand-off holes in keyboard mount allow you place the assembled unit onto the standoffs, and slide the assemble through the holes you created in step 5. This was designed this way so you wouldn't have to rotate the assembly in place and possibly stress the stand-offs.

8. Once you've slid the keyboard mount into place, insert special washers into elongated hole.

9. Tighten screws (you'll note that these washers prevent the mount from sliding out.

10. Mount keyboard with provided screw.

The completed assembly provides a good solid mounting point for the additional 2 joystick ports.

This installation set of parts is based on the Gideon Ultimate64 mainboard, and is compatible with the 64c, kickstarter and post-kickstarter cases.

This mount utilizes one brass M3 heatset and one M2 brass heatset inserted into the plastic mount Two black oxide screws and stainless steel washers are also included, along with the two DB9 male connectors.
